Al Madinah Al Munawwarah · Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
The world's first fully integrated Islamic civilisation city —
built not just to house a community, but to embody one.
Every street, every neighbourhood, every home is oriented toward it. The Grand Masjid seats 15,000+ worshippers — rising above gardens of flowing streams, roses, and jasmine. At prayer time the city gathers. Every night the crescent moon rises above its dome and 65,000 residents hear the same Adhan.
A circular garden the size of a district — visible from every neighbourhood. Roses, jasmine, wildflowers, and date palms stretching to the horizon. A central fountain. 30 bee colonies. Gazelles roaming freely. Not decorative. This is the city's lungs, its larder, and its soul.
Named after Al-Muakhat — the bond of brotherhood the Prophet ﷺ established between the Ansar and the Muhajireen in Al Madinah. Every merchant knows their neighbour. Every transaction is halal. The Masjid dome is visible at the end of every avenue. Children play. Families linger. Trade is an act of worship.
Every block has its own food garden. Families harvest together. Children learn where food comes from. Elders teach what the Prophet ﷺ taught about the earth — that planting a seed is Sadaqah. Rawdah grows its own food, processes its own produce, and gives what it cannot use.
"Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim." In Rawdah, the library opens onto gardens. Scholars sit beside students. Doctors beside farmers. The library is not a building — it is a culture. Solar-powered. Open to all. Islamic sciences alongside modern disciplines.
